Reddit's Victoria Taylor was unceremoniously booted from Reddit and the interactive community is having none of it. On Friday, Reddit's chief Ellen Pao issued an apology to its online community, acknowledging some lapses on their judgement and should have handled the issue more appropriately.
The backlash led to the shutting down of the website's trendy sections. Nearly 300 users were said to have been affected by the shutdown, affecting areas of technology and the arts among others. Although Pao apologized for the shortcoming, she did not disclose anything about Taylor's departure, nor offer an explanation on the "surprise removal" of the Ask Me Anything (AMA) director of talent.

Members of the interactive community are worried they won't be able to reach the AMA after Taylor's departure. Moderators confirmed that her job as the main contact with the AMA program has frequently given its users a better access to the Q&A program, while as the main coordinator for public figures and celebrities who also participates in the program, her dismissal will prove to be a great challenge to its users.
Reddit users, on the other hand, has speculations that Taylor's untimely dismissal had something to do with her, moderating Rev. Jesse Jackson's AMA. Pao and Ohanian recently announced that as of Friday night, most of the pages have been restored and will soon get back to its normal operation.
Reddit performs under Advance Publications alongside Conde Nast magazine empire. Since last year, Reddit has received numerous modifications for its $50 million funding for the past year. Today, Reddit is listed to be worth $250 million and plans to start a massive expansion in a few years time.
Worthy as it may seem, the expansion is not without thedifficulties along the way. Some of it has caused major delays on the plans, including policies that will not tolerate online bullying as well as "involuntary pornography."
Ohanian said, "we are also responsible in the welfare of our users and while we admit committing mistakes before, we have learned from the process along the way."
