"Sinister" director Scott Derrickson will helm "Doctor Strange" based on the screenplay by Jon Sphaits, and so far, there are no updates as to who will McAdams play in the movie; however, ComicBook.com reported that McAdams could play the dimensional sorceress Clea, while Screenrant hinted that she could be Morgana Blessing.

In the Marvel Comics continuity, Doctor Strange had several love interest throughout his run, but these two have been the most notable so far.

In the comics, Clea is the niece of the dimensional demon lord Dormamu, one of Strange's most notorious enemies. They first met in Dormamu's domain called the Dark Dimension during Strange's first encounter with the demon lord. Screenrant noted that Clea's present in the first film might set-up the events for a second film.

As for Morgana Blessing, she is a writer and is often a friend and occasional love interest of Stephen Strange. In recent comic book runs, she is depicted as the love interest of Stephen's brother Victor Strange, a.k.a. Baron Blood, a vampire. She also has ties with Baron Mordo which he will be the main antagonist within the film and is played by Chiwetel Ejiofor.

He also explained his casting of Tilda Swinton as the female "Ancient One" as he believes that the character is a mantle and a title rather than a person, Newsarama reported.
