Oscar winner Susan Sarandon's West 15th, Manhattan home was broken into and valuable items such as jewelry, a camera and a laptop were stolen. The robbery occurred Saturday.
Fortunately, the 67-year old star was out of town when the crime happened. Her 22-year old son with actor Tim Robbins, Miles Robbins, was in the home before the robbery occurred, but was said to have left between 8-9pm.

Robbins discovered the robbery when he got home at 3:30am. Finding the home in disarray, Robbins immediately called the police to report the crime. Robbins stated that he believed the robber had entered either through the door or a terrace window.
Authorities stated that there was no forced entry, but shared that they had discovered a ladder on the roof of the building beside Sarandon's. They believe the intruder used the ladder to scale buildings in order to get access to the home.
Sarandon lives in a nine-storey brick building.
Unfortunately, there were no security cameras installed on the roof, so the burglar wasn't caught in action. Officers are yet to determine the description of the criminal.
Although police approximated the stolen items at US$00,000, they are still waiting for Sarandon to return so they can properly assess the exact value of her possessions.
Sarandon has yet to give a statement about the incident.
The actress recently made the news when she revealed that she had a romantic tryst with musical icon David Bowie in the 80s. While news of her old fling was being discussed last week, she took to Twitter to post a vacation photo in an unidentified lake.
The actress is a native of New York and currently owns a ping-pong club in Manhattan.
"New York is a big, beautiful, bad-ass town that constantly demands rediscovery. This is my hometown; I want people to love it as much as I do," she shared.
