Ed Sheeran Girlfriend - The love life of the "Thinking Out Loud" singer has been a constant debate recently, and all news outlets can agree on is that the identity of Ed Sheeran's girlfriend is a secret.

Louise Johnston, an Irish model and former reality star who is also the 24-year-old singer's long-time friend has been reported by several international publications to be Sheeran's secret girlfriend.

"Louise and Ed have been friends for years but now they have become a lot closer. They are constantly in touch, even when he is on tour, but he is coming here soon for a gig in Dublin and they will be able to catch up then," according to a source from The Irish Mirror. "Friends and family now know, so it is out there. Louise really cares about him and it's going very well."

In a recent report by the Irish Mirror, Ed Sheeran is described as being "head over heels in love" and "smitten" with Louise Johnston.

Apart from the duo's long-standing friendship, the fact that Johnston isn't a celebrity of Taylor Swift or Selena Gomez's calibre has helped in their relationship to blossom for Johnston to become Ed Sheeran's girlfriend.

"The fact Louise isn't a big star is helping things move along nicely. She is different to some of the girls he has been linked to," the source added. "She's known Ed since long before he was selling out stadiums and their friendship has built up over the years, so it's not as if Louise is a starry-eyed girl."

Apparently, Johnston, who is a former "Fade Street" star, is used to having her love life in the public eye following an appearance on the reality show, reported The Irish Mirror.

Johnston's current focus is her career as a brand and events manager for foodie website "Lovin' Dublin."

Perhaps testament to the possibility that Louise Johnston could be Ed Sheeran's girlfriend is the fact that she is Irish and Sheeran has said he would "love" to live in his homeland when the time comes for settling down.

"All my family is moving back to Ireland now. I would love to live here, but I don't necessarily live anywhere at the moment," Sheeran said last year.

"Even when I'm on tour I never live anywhere, I'm always in other cities. Later down the line when I actually have time to stay somewhere though - I'd love to live here," he added.

Meanwhile, other publications are claiming that there is something heating up between Sheeran and Selena Gomez, according to The Inquisitr.

In a Hollywood Life report, Sheeran and Gomez have been spotted leaving a June 25 party. However, it's also possible that they are simply friends since Gomez and Sheeran are both close friends with Taylor Swift.

Ed Sheeran's girlfriend most recently was Athina Andrelos, 24. They reportedly split in March after fighting at a 2015 Brit Awards after-party. Andrelos told Sheeran to keep away from American singer Taylor Swift as the two have had a close friendship in recent years.

At the 2015 Brit Awards, the "Bad Blood" singer mentioned Sheeran, at her acceptance speech, according to The International Business Times.

"Honestly I know I wouldn't be up here if it wasn't for one of my best friends who took me to pubs and taught me how to make a good cup of tea and taught me everything I know about the UK," Swift said. "I just want to say I love you Ed Sheeran."
