Sony has announced last month that the Amazing Spider-Man will be delayed and is slated to be shown in cinemas by 2018. However, they have announced a spin-off saying that there might be a female superhero which the movie will be focusing on.

So who will be the lead female superhero? According to sources, they are choosing from Black Cat, Spider-Woman or Silver Sable.

Rumors are spreading that the actress who played the role of Black Cat in the second franchise of the movie will be taking the lead role. She is no other than Felicity Jones.

If and when this news is proven to be true. Warner Bros. will be having a great advantage with regards to Marvel.

Marvel has been hinting they might make a movie which will be focusing on a female superhero as well. Marvel was earlier criticized for not capitalizing on their women superheroes such as Black Widow.

Two weeks ago, Marvel did announce that Thor's gender has been changed to a female.  Responding to Marvel's big move, Warner Bros. then announced about Gal Gadot playing the role of Wonder Woman in 'Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice.'

Just a background check regarding the possible lead female superheroes, Spider-Woman is a fashion designer who was genetically transformed by Dr. Octopus, Silver Sable is a great fighter but no superpowers or anything related to that however she wears gadgets as her weapons, and Black Cat who was Harry Osborn's assistant in the second franchise who was trained to fight. So who will it be?

Reports say that the reason for Sony's move regarding the release date of the third franchise was because they feel there isn't anything new to bring to the table. Making this move is really smart according to sources since this will cause hype amongst the fans. Sources say that Sony wanted to revamp the next movie so this is what they have come up with.
