It's a bouncing baby boy for Utada Hikaru!

On May 23, 2014, the then 31-year-old singer married her then 23-year-old Italian boyfriend during an intimate ceremony by the sea in Fasano, South Italy. Utada requested fans and media to respect the privacy of her fiance and his family since they are not from the entertainment industry. Also in her blog, she briefly shared how she and Fancesco Calianno, a former bartender, met in London. Utada was previously married to Japanese filmmaker Kazuaki Kiriya but divorced after almost five years due to lack of communication.

Along with her first born, Utada also revealed that during her pregnancy, she has been working on a new album. While she has yet to complete the collection, Utada expressed eagerness to let her fans listen to what she has written and urged the them to patiently support her, Japan Times cited.

Prior to having her own family, Utada  has been living the quiet life since taking an indefinite hiatus in 2011. For more than 10 years, she has been making hits after hits. Her best-selling songs include theme songs for anime (e.g. "Neon Genesis Evangelion"), Japanese dramas (e.g. "Hana Yori Dango), movies (e.g. "Rush Hour 2"), and games (e.g. "Kingdom Hearts"). Remarkable of her works are "First Love," "Automatic," "Simple and Clean," "Sanctuary," and "Flavor of Life."

Arguably the most prominent and influential pop icon in the Japanese music scene, Utada eventually made a name for herself internationally. Several remixes of her songs were performed in the United Kingdom and topped the Billboard Hot Dance/Club Airplay charts. To date, she has three compilation albums and seven studio albums, most tracks of which are popular among J-pop fans and sold more than millions within first weeks of release.
