China is known to have one of the most expensive data charges, and the issue of Apple stealing bandwidth is not something to be undermined. CCTV accused Apple of stealing at least $10 dollars worth of bandwidth every single month. Apple stealing data bandwidth was not without basis when phones were put to the test.
CCTV reports that out of the ten phone units that were placed to the test and were left on standby mode for 120 hours, every single one of them incurred some data. Apparently, Apple stealing bandwidth is not the only one seen, creeping on data charges, but also, Sony and Nokia Phones.
During the standby mode, Sony and Nokia were recorded to have used 4 MB of data, but iPhones took the worst when it was discovered to have consumed 80MB of data while on standby in just 120 hours.
In China Mobile, for every RMB 15, you can enjoy a maximum of 110MB on data bandwidth, but with iPhone stealing bandwidth, consumers are being charged RMB60 for data they never get to use.
Although there is reportedly no concrete evidence on the issue of iPhone stealing bandwidth, based on their tests, they are not the only ones, the question that remains to haunt its consumer is the massive amount of data bandwidth consumed in standby.
Tech analysts consider CCTV's Apple comments as a smear campaign against the giant smartphone manufacturer, saying the claims may have to depend on several basis like the settings of the iPhone and whether the cellular data is turned on or not.
The validity of the claims that iPhone steals bandwidth may have to depend on the network carrier, the pre installed applications as well as the type of iPhone unit you have. Apple stealing data accusations may need to provide more proof in order to file a formal complaint.
