Tiger Woods' Return to Last Major Uncertain

Despite his injury that forced him to quit the Bridgestone invitational, Tiger Woods should not be counted out of the PGA Championship because he just might make it to Valhalla this week.
Woods' agent said it was too soon to say whether he would definitely be out of the tour to recuperate after having surgery on his back.

"Way too early. He has to rest and get treatment and then assess later," he wrote. "Pointless to make that decision now without proper time to give him best chance. Nothing further today, maybe [not] even tomorrow," said Mark Steinberg, Woods' agent.
He did not discount the possibility of Woods making the final major at Louisville, Kentucky.
The PGA of America announced on Twitter that Woods' scheduled press conference on the tournament would not push through on Tuesday.
In a related development, U.S. captain Tom Watson said Woods' chances to be included in the Ryder Cup was slim because of his back injury.
Woods withdrew at Firestone after teeing off at the ninth hole. He appeared to be in pain after he tried to pick up the tee. He later said he "jarred" his back when he hit a shot from a fairway bunker at the second hole.
He also had a surgery on his back in March. Bridgestone was his third tournament since coming back from the injury
