"Dragon Blade" is a Chinese-Hollywood production. It not only stars the world's highest paid actor, Jackie Chan, and Super Junior's Choi Siwon, but also Adrien Brody and John Cusack. The film will air during the Asian American International Film Festival, specifically on July 24 at 9:30 in the evening.
Directed by David Lee, the film "Dragon Blade" tells the tale of the struggle between east and west factions. Both aim to establish territory over the Silk Road. Chan portrays the part of Huo An, the Hun captain in charge of protecting Silk Road. Cusack on the other hand plays the role of Lucius, a Roman general attempting to flee from Adrien Brody's character, Emperor Tiberius.
Super Junior's Choi Siwon plays the right hand of Chan, Yin Po. Also, Siwon is the protector of the Silk Road. While the film is set to premiere at the festival by July, it will be released in the United States by September. The Asian American Film Festival will be held in New York City from July 23 to Aug. 1. For those who wish to know the full line-up, head to their official website, Asian American International Film Festival.
Aside from the film, "Dragon Blade," Choi Siwon is also set to star in the film "To The Fore." The film tells the tale of extreme sport bike enthusiasts. Directed by Chinese director, Dante Lam, it tells the tale of a tough competition between three cyclists played by Siwon, Eddie Peng, and Shawn Dou.
"I have very good friends riding bikes and I also watch a documentary related with the bike. It's my chance to try the practice of cycling. I hope I can overcome the weaknesses of the other actors," shared Siwon in a report by Muvila.
Apart from starring in films, it has also been confirmed that Siwon would be a co-producer of the webtoon based film, "Interview." The toon is about a fiction writer experiencing a slump, who then swears to never do interviews. Currently, EnterMedia is on the search for US directors and writers to work with the Korean producers set to work on the film.
