What was supposed to be a daring 'selfie' turned tragic after a Mexican man accidentally shot himself in the head with a loaded gun as he posed for a self-shot photo op over the weekend.
Mexico City's Oscar Otero Aguilar was aiming for a dramatic picture when tried to take a 'selfie' with a .45 caliber loaded gun trained on his temple. Aguilar unintentionally killed himself after the gun went off.

According to reports from the Mexican newspaper "Excelsior," the 21-year-old Mexican veterinarian had been drinking with two of his friends prior to the incident.
His friends told authorities that Aguilar tried to take the photo with the gun, which he allegedly borrowed, and planned on posting the 'selfie' on his Facebook page.
A neighbor called local police after he heard a gunshot and screaming.
"I called the police straight away and when they arrived they found that he was still alive," Manfredo Paez Paez said.
Although still alive when paramedics arrived on the scene, Aguilar passed away while being transported to the hospital.
An autopsy has been scheduled this week as investigators look for clues as to what really transpired during the incident.
Abner Campos Vives, one of Aguilar's drinking mates, was taken into custody following the occurrence, although it was not clarified whether any charges will be pressed against him.
Aguilar's other friend, only known by authorities as "El Paco" took off after the incident.
The 21-year-old victim had been posting several photos on Facebook recently showing him in different poses with women, cars, and motorcycles. A previous photo showed him near several bottles of alcohol.
A community page on Facebook has been created to commemorate Aguilar's death due to photos and selfies being cleared from the young man's own Facebook page.
