One age-old proverb goes "don't wash your dirty linen in public." But in this day and age of social media and public sharing, is taking all the laundry out in the open the way to go?

On July 3, Instagram users following Vanness Wu and Singaporean heiress Arissa Cheo yet again became witnesses to the ugly spat of the celebrity husband and wife. Since their fairy tale wedding in 2013, the couple have had instances of engaging in online arguments by posting their rants on the photo-sharing platform.

Through a lengthy caption, Cheo made an attempt to break her silence about the labels thrown against her and the "lies and emotional abuse" she allegedly endures throughout the years.

"I've sucked it up and kept silent, been there done that, while I end up being vilified as the 'cheater' and 'wild party girl' who's 'not good enough'," Cheo wrote.

Her ambiguous yet emotionally charged write-up apparently also took a swipe at Wu's actions as a Christian by saying, "especially when some people only want something that they never sincerely n [sic] genuinely wanted/needed, keep doing weird-ass things that are justified in their own overtly self-righteous ways (which ironically, are completely unbiblical) that completely go against instead of working hard on building up."

In a seeming reply to his wife's tirade, the Asia's Got Talent judge posted hours later a picture of a child with the words "What if we all love each other."

In January, Cheo called Wu a "fake" and accompanied her online rant with expletives. Social media users called her out for swearing and even felt sorry for the Taiwanese pop star for marrying "this kind of wife." Undaunted, the 32-year-old fashion entrepreneur posted a comment that read, "What you see on telly is definitely not real. Don't tell me what I know. And I [sic] swear if I want. Go away."

Wu's reply was curt and simply advised his wife to "mind her tongue." The said word war reportedly caused the couple to unfollow each other on Instagram.

Before the end of January, Wu dispelled rumors of divorce by posting a black and white close-up photo of a man and a woman kissing. In an effort to conclude the drama, Wu posted the caption, "Is everyone done? Don't write about it anymore. Thank you."
