With the divorce from Jennifer Garner filling up his time, it was also recently announced that Ben Affleck will be taking on the directing responsibility for both "Live By Night" and the upcoming standalone Batman movie.
Already slated to play the Caped Crusader in the upcoming "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice," actor and director Ben Affleck was recently announced as the next director for the standalone Batman film, which he will also co-write. Despite Warner Bros. keeping themselves quiet, Entertainment Weekly reports that Affleck will co-write the script with Geoff Johns, and will succeed the events of "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" as well as the much-awaited "Justice League," which will finally put together the DC roster of heroes on the silver screen. Geoff Johns is the writer for the DC comics and DC Entertainment's chief creative officer.

However, Warner Bros. has other plans for the "Argo" director: People Magazine reports that the studio has green lighted Affleck's supposed next directing engagement "Live By Night." The movie is based on a crime novel by Dennis Lehane, which is set in the Prohibition era. Names already attached to the film are in the likes of Sienna Miller, Zoe Saldana and Elle Fanning, with Affleck also starring in the film.
The problem is that the actor director has been known to be quite particular from pre-production to post, and according to Boston Herald he really takes his time tweaking the script and never rushes the casting process. With the standalone Batman film and "Live By Night," Affleck really does have his plate full, especially with the divorce looming over his head. Aside from these he also has "The Accountant" to be released early next year.
On one hand, it is good that Ben Affleck is seriously keeping himself busy after the separation from Jennifer Garner; on the other, this type of scheduling might be the reason why the couple split. Hopefully, in terms of his career, he fares better than his downward spiral love life.
