McKinney's representative released a statement to TMZ saying that a hacker was responsible for the topless pictures of the model on Instagram.
Her rep addressed the Charlotte McKinney hack with a statement to TMZ: "Charlotte has once again become a victim of hacking. It is disgusting someone does this and hopefully laws will change to protect people from these cyber attacks."
By early Thursday morning, the topless pictures had already been removed. At the same time, McKinney posted a note on Instagram addressing the Charlotte McKinney hack. The model also apologized to fans and thanked them for their support.
"To all my followers, I've once again become a victim of hacking," she said. "It's disgusting people enjoying doing this to others. Please disregard any message you've gotten from me. Thanks for the support xo."
McKinney is dyslexic, and she has often shared her experiences being bullied as a child.
"People, even celebrities, are so hateful online. I want to make people more aware about it, and about how hurtful it is. I'm using this platform of my exposure to give back," she told Daily Mail Online.
"I've been so lucky to have gotten that Super Bowl commercial and to have gotten my face out there and I want to use this time right now to give back to girls who are in the same place that I was a few years ago with the bullying," she added.
"Luckily for me, I had support, but some girls don't. So I'm using this opportunity to be a figure for them, and to raise money and awareness," said McKinney.
It was only earlier this year that Charlotte McKinney made headlines when she appeared at a Carl's Jr. Super Bowl commercial. McKinney walked through a farmer's market in the nude to promote the burger chain's all-natural, grass-fed beef burger, according to The Inquisitr.
