Google's artificial intelligence will now help in improving the efficiency of the Google Spam Checker as technology company says its technology is almost fool-proof. The company has confirmed that Google is now able to block 99.9 percent of spam email.
According to ZD Net, Google reports claim that the technology giant now has the technology to block 99.9 percent spam emails. This reduces the occurrence of a false positive to a measly 0.05 percent only, which is a great news for Gmail users across the globe. As per Google, this has become possible only because the company is relying on its neural network of Artificial Intelligence to quickly browse through the hundreds of emails that people get in their inboxes and identify the spam mails. This technology also helps in identifying possible phishing attacks and prevent their occurrence.

However, security firm Kaspersky said that 59.2 percent mail that was filtered by Google in the first quarter of 2015 was spam. Citing Google's spam checks, users had also started using domains like dot work, dot science, etc. to make it past the security checks. This way Gmail users were still struggling to get rid of malware and advertisements as well as a lot of other unwanted mail that they didn't want to see in their inboxes.
Google has confirmed to using machine learning or artificial intelligence to improve the efficiency of its spam filter, ever since its inception. But users still have to click on the not spam option for some of the mails that are important and are accidently sent to the spam folder.
Similar is the case for the mails which had to be reported as spam. The previous format involved Google relying on 900 million users to identify spam mails and report them. Google is introducing Gmail postmaster tools to combat the problem.
As per Engadget, the primary benefit of this tool is aimed towards business houses sending emails in bulk and will help them identify delivery errors, spam checks, etc., even the end user will gain from its implementation.
