Office 2016 For Mac: Microsoft Confirms New Office Update For Mac

Mac users have reason to rejoice as Microsoft has confirmed the launch of the new Office update for Mac systems. The new version will initially available to Office 365 users and the new version includes host of new features exclusively for Mac

According to Cult Of Mac, technology company Microsoft has confirmed that the new Office for Mac is now available for download; however, users with Office 365 subscription will get preference when it comes to downloading this new option. With the last version being released five years ago, the new update is indeed being considered a big feat. It is said to have a series of interesting features that have been designed exclusively with Mac in mind. The ribbon user interface remains intact to give the users a better operational experience. Other features include sandboxed, apps, Retina screen optimization, Multi-Touch gestures, and full screen views.

As of now, Office 365 subscribers will be able to buy five new apps of the Office 2016 for Mac; however, those interested to buy Office 2016 for Mac as a standalone app will have to wait until September.

Mac users can purchase the new version by visiting their account page at office.com/myaccount and following the installation instructions.

Since March 2014, the Office for Mac has been in testing mode and now the company is finally ready to release it to the public. So far, Microsoft has updated the Office version for Mac seven times. There are also plans to make it available to students at a heavily discounted price. New features include an improved Mail Merge in Word, Propose New Time in Outlook and support for External Data Connections in Excel.

The new version is available in 139 countries and 16 different languages. Thanks to its integration with cloud, users will find it easier to switch between devices - including PCs, tablets, phones and the web. This will simplify the task continuing to editing or collaborating on files.

The new release comes shortly after the Word, Excel and Power Point for Android was released. Shortly, Microsoft will also release Office apps for Windows 10, as confirmed by Tech Crunch.
