A fairytale-like love story transpired in Bakersfield, California as a couple died on the same day after being married for more than six decades. To sprinkle more romance to the picture, the couple died holding hands.
ABC News reported the "love story that lasted a lifetime, and beyond" after Don and Maxine Simpson died just a few hours apart from each other at their family home in July.

"It's absolutely beautiful, and the story is beautiful," the couple's granddaughter Melissa Sloan describing her grandparents' 62 years together.
After meeting at a bowling alley decades back, the couple had been inseparable.
A civil engineer from North Dakota, Don cannot spend a long time away from his beautiful wife, who was a native in California.
After marrying a few years following their first meeting, they adopted two sons and had been active in non-government organizations, such as the Rotary Club.
The couple also made time to travel together. Their families shared that the two have never been apart.
Don was taken to the hospital a few weeks ago because of a broken hip. During his stay at the infirmary, his health started to decline.
Deciding that the two should be together, the Simpson's relatives took Don home to his wife in Bakersfield, who had also been losing her fight to the cancer she had been battling for years.
After taking him home, Sloan and her sister put the couple in one room and adjusted their beds to only be a few inches from each other. Don then took Maxine's hand as their family surrounded them.
Being near each other again, the couple spent their last hours together as what they have always done.
A few hours later, Maxine took her last breath. After her body was removed from the room, Don passed away, finally leaving the room with her.
"I knew in my heart this is what's supposed to happen. Grandma and Grandpa are supposed to be together and Grandma and Grandpa are going to die together," Sloan told reporters.
