The reigning MotoGp World Champion Marc Marquez is back on the winning ways in Sunday's Go Pro Motorrad German Grand Prix at Sachsenring, Germany.

Marquez may still be 65 points behind the Championship leader Telefonica Movistar Yamaha Racing Valentino Rossi in the driver's standings, but his dominant win in the 9th round of the MotoGp Championships just before the summer break might be an indication of resurgence for the Repsol Honda star.

The Spanish MotoGP star went into this weekend as the favorite to win the race, as he has been unbeaten on this circuit since 2010. From the first day of practice, he looked like the man to beat as his pace stayed consistent throughout the weekend.

Telefonica Movistar Yamaha Racing star Jorge Lorenzo nevertheless put up a gutsy challenge from the get-go. Lorenzo, who is currently second behind Valentino Rossi in the driver's standing, capitalized on an opening to overtake Marquez and control the race through the first four laps. Marquez took back the lead with a nifty turn in lap 5.

It was only a matter of time Marquez started to command the race and control a significant lead over the trailing riders at his back. Although there was a tight battle for second behind him between Pedrosa and Lorenzo and Rossi cruising along in 4th, Marquez was all set to cross the checkered flag first.

With his main rivals shuffling for the 2nd place, Marquez extended advantage at the front and on lap 11 he held a gap of two and a half seconds. He continued to sustain his blistering pace this until the end of the race to secure the win.

This victory marked his second this year after his last win at Austin in the early part of the season and sixth successive victory at Sachsenring across all classes. He was glad that Repsol Honda at last won their 2nd this season after some unfortunate races in the past. However, he's aware that a win on a circuit where Honda excels was really not the answer to their problems. He plans to take part the Misano test next week along with Dani Pedrosa to work on some of the issues of the current Rc213v and make a further progress for the next race at Indianapolis on August 9, 2015.

"I'm very happy for this victory because I am starting to enjoy on the bike again. In the end I was concentrated and we did a great job and we must enjoy the moment." Marquez told reporters via Crash.net
