The actor is now going to remain in the hospital for an estimated one week after his surgery and is speculated to have scars afterwards.
In the movie, the scene is supposed to feature approximately 200 cyclists, many of whom were volunteers from Taiwan's cyclist associations. The average speed of bikers is within the range of 37 to 43 miles per hour. The actor has reportedly done an air flip which caused him to injure his head and shoulders, but not as severely as that of how his left collarbone ended up.
Dante Lam, the director of the new film, revealed that it was fortunate that the actor was wearing a helmet and that the riders behind him were able to stop themselves from running him over or the injuries could have been worse.
Additionally, the director said that he has no intention of changing Carlos Chan's role in the movie although the actor is not expected to recover for another eight to 10 weeks.
South Korean actor and member of the boy band Super Junior, was present during the accident, riding the bike in front of Carlos Chan when the accident happened.
Shawn Dou, a Chinese actor, claimed that he saw Carlos Chan fall from his bike to the ground. Luckily, an ambulance was immediately present to take the actor to the hospital.
Taiwanese actor EddiePeng also commended the injured actor for being hard-working during their training, however, there are always dangers that high-speed stunts as such could pose.
Carlos Chan's manager wanted to take him back to Hong Kong for his recovery, however, since it would be inconvenient for the actor to move around, they have decided to stay at the local hospital for the time being.
