(Photo : Reuters) As the world begins the countdown to the much awaited launch of the Windows 10 operating system, the recent update from the makers points out that users who accept Windows 10 and agree to the license conditions will sign up for a clause. This will make them eligible to receive updates without any prior notification.
Microsoft is all set to promote the upcoming Windows 10 operating system with new flagship smartphones Lumia 940 and Lumia 940 XL. Both handsets are expected to be launched at IFA, which will be held in September.
Lumia 940 is rumored to be the first phone having the Windows 10 operating system right from the box. According to Ricciolo, the Lumia 940 will be faster, stronger and even slimmer than the other Lumia devices.

Ricciolo also mentioned the word "Hot Autumn" along with the Windows 10. Therefore, it is quite clear that Windows 10 is coming this September; however, Microsoft has yet to confirm that Lumia 940 will be the carrier of the new operating system.
Microsoft has published a purported image of the Lumia 940, and for the first time, Microsoft has moved towards the metallic casing which ultimately turned into a slimmer dimension. Earlier, TechTimes reported that the device would feature primary camera assisted by triple LED flash.
Lumia series is concentrating to provide quality-shooting experience, and devices like Lumia 940 and Lumia 1030 are the clear evidence of the fact. The Lumia 940 will have a larger version modelled as Lumia 940XL. It will have an iris scanner feature, replacing the fingerprint reader, though it ought to be mentioned that Microsoft has not confirmed whether the latter option remains or not in Lumia 940.
Earlier in July, TechTimes reported the probable specifications of the upcoming Lumia 940XL handset as it will sport a 5.7-inch display size with 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution, featuring the upgraded Quad HD type display. The camera segment has kept the tradition of high standard sensor with 17MP rear camera and 5MP front camera for video chats and selfie.
Like Lumia 940, the Lumia 940XL will also have triple LED flash support. The hardware specification is extremely powerful with Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor and Adreno 430 GPU is chipped in the system for better gaming experience.
The memory unit will probably have 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage facility, said reports. The storage unit can be expanded by external microSD card slot. The phablet is also expected to have Windows 10 as its operating system.
