Google maps much awaited update that will allow users to easily transfer data from their mobile to their desktops has finally happened. This is surely expected to simplify matters for the travelers as well.
According to Engadget, Google Maps has announced its latest update. With this new version, users will be able to transmit data regarding their destination from their mobile devices to a desktop. This means once users sign into their Google account, even it is from the desktop, they will have access to the data that they have seen in their mobile maps.

As long as people have the latest version of maps installed on their mobile, they will be able to access these features. Google was aware of this issue and had been consistently working on it. Previously too, the search engine giant had tried to resolve the matter by introducing an option wherein users could directly search. This included the ability to send directions directly through the search option, Android Police reported.
Those who still don't have access to this facility should try updating their maps as per the latest software. Once updated, users will see the send to device option at the bottom that will make it easier for them to transfer the data easily. Once they click on this option, the app will automatically display a list of all the devices that are compatible. These devices will include all the smartphones or the tablets that they have signed into using the Google chrome account. Users just have to select the device at this stage and transfer the data wherever they want.
Gadget freaks are welcoming the development though it is being said that Google should have introduced the update long ago. Instantly, when this done, the user will receive a notification on his or her device. This notification will pop-up the address of the destination and they can conveniently choose to take directions from here on. For those who rely on Google maps for their daily navigation, this update can be extremely useful.
