Controversy had recently struck Philadelphia Eagles' running back DeMarco Murray as he was publicly compared to the team's former rusher LeSean McCoy, who is now with the Buffalo Bills.

McCoy was traded to the Bills in March of this year for linebacker Kiko Alonso while former Dallas Cowboy Murray was signed to a five-year, $42 million deal two days later after becoming a free agent.

The moves were just two of the several transactions executed by Eagles' coach Chip Kelly during the current offseason when he was given full control by the management with regards to personnel movement.

PennLive described the team as "undoubtedly the busiest, most scrutinized" squad in the NFL this summer with a lot of controversial decisions by two-year head coach, including the acquisitions of an injured quarterback in Sam Bradford and a below average one in Tim Tebow.

Entering his third season as top honcho in Philadelphia, Kelly's alleged roster experiments were widely criticized by detractors, including an assertion of racism from McCoy.

Although nothing was ever proven or investigated, the gossips created bad blood between the former Pittsburgh standout and Kelly.

McCoy was the franchise's all-time rushing leader while Murray was the league's rushing leader last season, which to comparisons between the two running backs.

His current teammates believe that Murray is the better rusher than McCoy and whose game and on-field IQ would fit Kelly's system better, but an NFL exec thinks that overall the latter is better and other teams would never fear Murray than they had dreaded McCoy, as per the Dallas Morning News.

The exec, who was not named by the reports, also said that he would "take McCoy over Murray every time."

As reported in the NFL's official website by Conor Orr, the anonymous official explained that when teams played the Eagles then, they feared McCoy. But when they played the Cowboys, coaches did not worry about Murray but were concerned about Dez Bryant and Tony Romo instead.

Orr, however, thinks that aside from having the same ages (27), both running backs are equally talented and effective if you closely examine their production and success on the field. The NFL exec might just be looking at it subjectively, basing on the intimidation instigated by one man on his opponents.
