The guessing game is finally over as Taiwanese superstar Jay Chou and model wife Hannah Quinlivan are now proud parents of a baby girl. The news was confirmed Monday night by the couple's representatives although the real birth date of the little bundle of joy is still being kept under wraps.

"We have a daughter now; Hannah and I are very happy," Chou told his agent over the phone.

In an earlier interview, Chou revealed that he wants to name his child "Jay Junior" and for the kid to take after his love for music. As for the looks, Chou said he hopes the baby will inherit his wife's features, while Quinlivan shared with friends that she hopes her child will have long lashes. While no picture has been posted yet, the new parents seem to have received what they hoped for as Chou's relatives reportedly described the baby's eyelashes as "long and voluminous."

According to Quinlivan's representative, the model gave birth to a pre-term baby via cesarean section on July 12. The statement on the date was later retracted. Meanwhile, tabloid Apple Daily and China Times reported that the delivery date was July 10, quoting the statement of Chou's family and friends.

Since the announcement of Quinlivan's pregnancy, the couple made conscious efforts to conceal the baby's gender and birth date--even to Chou's neighbor and manager J. R. Yang. The 36-year-old singer refused to answer any question about his baby to "protect his family." An article by Strait Times alluded this avoidance to Hong Kong and Taiwan's custom of giving predictions when a celebrity baby is expected.  

As part of protecting his family, Chou revealed that he and his wife will not partake in any parenting endorsement. Similarly, his child will not shoot any commercial in the future. 

Chou and his 21-year-old wife held a grand wedding in England in January. The lavish ceremony was just one of the three celebrations of their union. Two other ceremonies were held in Taiwan and Australia this year, while their first official wedding was reportedly held as early as July 2014.
