The freeway which connects Dali and Lijiangm DALI Freeday, is going to be on service within this year. The construction started from March 2010. In the past days, people have to take Interstate 214 or the Dali Road when they drive from Dali to Lijiang, two of the worldwide known landscapes in China. The new freeway is going to reduce the travel time by about two hours.

The DALI Freeway program is a branch of the project National Freeway Network and the total mileage of the DALI Freeway program is 259 kilometers. Besides, it is going to be the essential pathway for entering Sichuang and Tibet. The majority roads and freeways sum up to 192 kilometers and the connection parts are 67 kilometers. The budget is estimated 188 billion.
Including 15 bridges, 10 tunnels; the longest bridge is Wa Se Te Bridge as 2,651 meters, and the longest tunnel is Hua Jiao Qing Tunnel as 4,400 meters, the DALI roads run through all the cliffy mountains in this district. The two "longest" are both inside the Wa Se District of the east of Dali bay. The amazing part of the roads is that they are built and controlled below 3 degree in gradient, and shaped as "S", the best landscape view between those verdantlush green and mirrow-like lakes.
Since the program connects these two traveler-favorite places, it is one of the purposes that the bridge brings people to many small towns with the help of the various exits. In addition, the program is supposed to solve the long line waiting of the Dali entries. It is quite common that the cars line up to 1 kilometer long in the current environment.
The last 400 meters Double Dragon Tunnel is under intense process and would welcome its first visitors probably in September. According to the government's requirement, the development and construction department ensure that the whole program will be complete two years after the start day.
