With the homecoming of Deron Williams to Dallas, there are a lot of speculations that Brooklyn Nets point guard Jarrett Jack is going to step into the role of the three-time All-Star as the court leader of the Atlantic Division team.

And it is highly likely that Nets head coach Lionel Hollins will be going that direction, not because Jack had always been his favorite but mainly because of what the ten-year veteran said and did recently during the summer league competitions in Las Vegas.

The 31-year-old floor general attended the Nets' 76-75 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers and "said hello and congratulations" to all the players and their coaches Jay Humphries and Joe Wolf as they went back to the locker room, according to the New York Post.

After the game, Jack was asked by reporters about the purpose of his attendance and his answer was blunt: he is "very ready" to fill Williams' position as team leader and he is willing to lead the team not only on the court but also off it.

"That's part of my purpose for coming down here. A lot of guys want to lead, but you don't necessarily want to get people to follow," Jack told reporters at courtside after the game. "I want to come out here and lead with my actions and be part of what we've got going on."

The former Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket was joined by All-Star shooting guard Joe Johnson, who had been mentioned in a lot of trade rumors but ultimately is reportedly going to stay with the Nets, as they flew in on the latter's private plane to Vegas from Atlanta where the backcourt duo resides, as per SB Nation.

Jack said that they will also be joined by new teammates Shane Larkin, Thomas Robinson and Wayne Ellington soon to support their summer league team.

There were also rumors that Hollins and Jack were not on the same page and allegedly even had nearly come into blows after one practice, but the Maryland native denied such gossips, via the New York Daily News.

He said that playing for the former Memphis coach, who was notorious for being tough, was "cool" and that they are actually getting along well.
