It is rumored that Microsoft is pushing back the release date of Surface Pro 4 due to its deal with Samsung. The device will be released next year, which was earlier slated to release this year.

The reason behind this is the new deal which got signed between Samsung and Microsoft that involves the delivery of 20 million units of solid state drives, which are planned to be used in the tablet, according to KpopStarz.

It is also rumored that the new pushed back release date will fall in the season when schools re-open, generating a wider and more profitable market for the company. Since Windows 10 was slated to be launched along side Surface Pro 4, it is yet to be confirmed whether the release of the operating system is postponed or not.

Satya Nadella, the Chief Executive Officer of Microsoft, recently sent out a mail to all his employees, stating that the company is trying to shift its focus towards profitable products and they are also planning to create a new culture.

Microsoft is facing a lot of financial issues due to their deal with Nokia. Apparently, the company also handed out a number of pink slips to thousands of its employees in an apparent bid to curtail expenses.

Surface Pro 4 is expected to be jam packed with many powerful features, states Yibada. It will be the first ever 2-in-1 device which will fulfil the purpose of both, a laptop and a tablet. It is also expected to be launched in two variants, one with 12-inch screen and the other with a 14-inch screen.

Both will be sporting the same screen resolution and also the same 16 GB of RAM capacity. The device is also rumored to be equipped with 1 TB internal memory storage capacity, which is exponentially larger when compared to any of its predecessors. It will also sport a higher battery capacity.

Surface Pro 4 is tipped to provide ample competition to the upcoming iPad Pro and MacBook Air 2016.
