Lucy Hale's dad loves her new grownup look, but he isn't too crazy about the sex headlines written beside her on the September 2014 issue of Cosmopolitan magazine.

While the cover promised that the "Pretty Little Liars" star will be revealing how she has overcome her insecurities, the headliner "Best. Sex. Ever. #HellYeah!" overpowered all other text.

When her father saw the cover, he immediately texted the actress to tell her how proud he was of her, but that he wasn't a fan of the sex headline. Amused, Hale posted a screenshot of their text exchange on Instagram.

The message read, "Saw your pic on Cosmo, you look wonderful. Not to[o] crazy about the articles beside your photo. Love u", to which Hale replied, "hahaha thanks daddy. I love you."

The singer-actress of "You Sound So Good to Me" fame also posted a photo of herself holding the magazine with the caption "Sorry for the captions dad."

The 25-year old actress, who isn't afraid to shed off her teen image, is ready to show off her sexuality. However, she does share that she felt rather awkward when she auditioned for "Fifty Shades of Grey".

She shared that although some of the lines she had to read during the audition were "very, very sexual", she had to commit to the role 100 percent or else she would have completely embarrassed herself.

Commitment aside, actually losing yourself into a character is quite difficult, according to Hale. Hale shared that it is especially hard working on "Pretty Little Liars" because fans always expect the show's actresses to be flawless, when the illusion of perfection relies mostly on make-up and a good camera filter.

"That's terrifying sometimes because you're breaking out or you feel gross and you still have to be in front of the camera," she added.
