Former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham has just partnered with "The Outnet", a discount luxury fashion website, to sell over 600 items from her own closet.

The fashion icon will be selling dresses she has worn on the red carpet, such as originals by Dolce & Gabbana, Prada and Roberta Cavalli. She will also be auctioning off ten "exclusive pieces".

The most iconic of the pieces in the auction are the white Dolce & Gabbana gown she wore at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards, as well as the maginificent yellow Cavalli dress she wore for a 2006 pre-World Cup party.

The sale will be running from Aug 20-25. Those who wish to partake in the sale need to sign up to the site.

Whatever will be earned from the sale of her items will go to Mothers2Mothers (m2m), a charity focused on helping, supporting and educating mothers with HIV. The organization makes sure that these mothers are given proper medical assistance, so that they can properly take care of themselves and their families.

Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour invited Beckham on a trip to South Africa where the two women met with m2m founder, Dr. Mitch Besser.

Health centers in Africa are sadly understaffed.

Because most of the children with AIDS in Africa are infected by their mothers during pregnancy or breastfeeding, m2m's doctors and nurses aim to provide education and support to potential mentor mothers who can help the community deal with the stigma and health concerns that go hand in hand with the virus.

Those who become mentor mothers are paid and trained by m2m.

Beckham was so moved by Dr. Besser's mission, that she decided to focus her efforts on raising awareness and money for the organization.

The former pop singer, who is also an ambassador of UNAIDS, an AIDS non-profit organization, shared that women have the responsibility to help others, especially their fellow women.
