Some bad news, music fans - folk duo The Civil Wars are going their separate ways.

The Civil Wars has been on a hiatus since 2012.
Williams shared that the turmoil between her and her partner has saddened her, but that she continues to respect White as a musician. She continues to be grateful for the music they have created together, but that she is currently moving forward with her own music.
The 31-year old musician revealed that she has gone back to the studio to record and that she is looking forward to performing onstage again.
White, on the other hand, thanked their fans who supported his partnership with Williams. He didn't state if he intends to go back to the studio and create music, but shared that whatever is up for him next, he appreciates those who have been part of his journey with The Civil Wars.
Williams and White, famous for their collaboration with Taylor Swift on "The Hunger Games" single "Safe and Sound", met while on a songwriting project years ago.
The two made beautiful music together, but it seems that personality differences have deterred the two from continuing their partnership.
It's been quite a ride for the two so many are disappointment with their disbandment. The two enjoyed much success, with their first album going gold. The duo also won four Grammy awards.
Along with the statement regarding the split, the duo gave away a free download of ''You Are My Sunshine" on their website. Recorded in 2010, this is the said song's digital debut in the U.S.
