Konami Company is now finding ways to maintain "MGS V," and the way it is being restructured for the preparation on Kojima Production's exit is a telltale sign that they plan to keep the game on.
According to Attack of the Fan Boy, it is not clear why Konami company is letting go of Kojima Productions, but speculations points to Hideo Kojima's recent announcement that "The Phantom Pain" will be his last "Metal Gear Solid V" project. Konami was quick to do actions that will make sure Kojima is not, on any form part of the "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain" project, including the removal of his name from the game's packaging, mention's of its name from analysts, as well as in all interviews held at the recent E3 event. After their departure, Konami will be looking for a new team that will work on the "MGS" series.
Kojima Production's pending departure has been heard around for months, but none of the rumors were actually confirmed until now that "Metal Gear Solid V's" voice actor confirmed it. The team's missing logo on game boxes and even the "MGS" trailer, according to ViedoGamer, were also indications that the team's work on "The Phantom Pain" may be their last.
VideoGamer tried to get Konami's statement regarding the issue, but a representative from the company declined to make any comments.
"Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain" will be ready for release on September 1 and will be available on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. Availability on PC platform has not yet been announced and may come at a later date. Amazon now accepts pre order of the game.
