The two WNBA players were married on May 8.
On June 4, Johnson shocked Griner when she announced that she would be missing the entire WNBA season because of pregnancy.
That prompted Griner to file an annulment on June 5 because the "marriage was based on fraud".
Griner claimed was unaware of the in vitro fertilization that brought about the pregnancy.
However, Johnson claimed that Griner was a willing participant in the vitro fertilization.
She emphasized that her pregnancy limited her income potential, which is dependent on her ability to play basketball, and now wants Griner to pay up.
Griner countered that she's not obligated to provide spousal support and that both of them should pay for for their own legal fees. The Mercury player added that she would also ask for attorney fees should Johnson's court claims be found "unreasonable."
Johnson noted that with her pregnancy being considered high-risk, there is no alternative source ofincome for her.
Johnson after her pregnancy but for the moment would need money for household assistance, personal trainers and medical care not covered by her current insurance.
The Shock player also insisted that Griner keep up payments on the Mercedes Benz she gave her.
Furthermore, Johnson has entered a not guilty plea in the domestic violence case involving Griner, says the ESPN.
The two were arrested on April 22 at Goodyear, Arizona home on misdemeanor charges of assault and domestic violence disorderly conduct.
Prosecutors in Arizona filed the charges after a month.
The assault charge accuses Johnson of "intentionally, knowingly or recklessly causing any physical injury" to Griner" while the domestic violence disorderly conduct charge said Johnson engaged in fighting and violent behavior.
Both Johnson and Griner were suspended seven games by the WNBA after their arrests. Griner has served her suspension and will be a starter in All-Star game. On the other hand, Johnson intends to serve her suspension next season.
Curiously, their marriage was held three weeks after they were arrested.
