Star Wars - Next Attraction in Disney Theme Parks

Walt Disney Co., known as the world's largest and successful media company, is planning to feature "Star Wars" at Disney theme parks and resorts to increase revenue and attraction.

According to Bob Iger, Chairman and Chief Executive, he is planning to prominently feature "Star Wars" presence at parks during an earnings call with respective financial analysts on Tuesday.

"When we grow 'Star Wars'' presence, which we will do significantly, you will see better bets being made that will pay off for us than were made in the past," Iger said.

He added that new attractions would capture attention and that people would always love to spend on something that is new to their eyes.

Iger mentioned that one of their strategies is to build strong brands and franchises that would be of great value to Disney and currently, they are very pleased with the results in numbers.

Rumors are already surrounding Disney theme parks on the creation of "Star Wars Land" in one or more Disney parks however the management have not yet revealed the details of "Star Wars" expansion of parks.

Financial reports of Burbank company's parks and resort segments reported a US$4B in revenue for the third quarter that ended June 28 resulting to Disney's overall revenue increase to US$12.5B.

Fans are looking forward for the next year's "Star Wars" film expected to be launched on December 18, 2015 and it is expected to have a new instalment every year.

Lucasfilm Ltd. Was bought by  Disney in 2012 for a price of US$4.05B to open the pipeline  for the "Star Wars"content.

Disney's resorts, parks, studio, consumer products, and interactive divisions had experienced a double-digit increase in operating income.

Company's media network division reported an operating income amounting to US$2.3B.
