Much to the excitement of many who grew up reading the classic book, Disney, with the help of "Frozen" co-director Jennifer Lee, will be releasing a film adaptation of Madeleine L'Engle's book, "A Wrinkle in Time".
Although Disney has yet to announce a director for "A Wrinkle in Time", having Lee onboard is already a definite win for the studio. With the help of the writer-director, Disney was able to gain a quarterly profit of US$2.2 billion just from "Frozen" alone.

In 2004, Disney produced and released a TV adaptation of "A Wrinkle in Time" on ABC, but adapting the classic to film is a much bigger endeavor.
The 1962 fantasy novel has long been a favorite amongst young adults. It delves into the conflict between conformity and non-conformity, about good and evil and, about how those struggles persist even in time travel.
Much like "Frozen", the central character in "A Wrinkle in Time" is a female - Meg Murry. Murry travels through space and time and everything in between to find her missing father.
According to "Variety", the film adaptation will "emphasize a strong female-driven narrative and creatively approaches the science fiction and world-building elements of the book."
Conservative Christians have long targeted the book, attempting to ban it from libraries because of the New Age beliefs the story focuses on and L'Engle's liberal take on religion. Despite the conservatives' efforts, the story and the book continue to persist today.
There is much expected of Lee for the film adaptation of "A Wrinkle in Time", with so many of the book's followers anticipating the movie's release.
Before becoming involved with "Frozen", Lee co-wrote the 2012 animated blockbuster, "Wreck-It-Ralph". The cartoon was also produced by Disney.
Currently, Lee is waiting for the release of her new Disney flick "Big Hero 6", which will open in theaters on November 7.
