BREAKING NEWS: China Receives Outpour of Sympathy as Massive Quake Death Toll Reaches Almost 600

China receives sympathies worldwide as the death toll reaches almost 600 in three days after a massive earthquake shook its southwestern province of Yunnan on Sunday, Xinhua news agency reported.
Reports from the National Health and Family Planning Commission on Wednesday indicateed that hospitals and other medical facilities were packed with almost 1,300 wounded Chinese citizens as of four p.m. on Tuesday.

A total of 2,833 have been injured after the destructive 6.5-magnitude quake, while 122 were severely wounded and 40 others still in critical care.
In Ludian County, considered the worst hit area, 504 were reported dead. In Qiaojia, 72 people died.
Reports also stated that nine more people from Qiaojia are still missing.
As per latest reports, over 1,600 medical workers from both military and civilian forces are gathered to attend to the wounded and to prevent any more mishaps along the dangerous earthquake zone.
The Sunday earthquake that hit southwestern China at around 4 p.m. had been the strongest in over a decade. The epicenter of the quake is Longtoushan Township in Zhaotong City.
It has affected over one million Chinese residents from the cities of Zhaotong and Quijing.
Leaders from different parts of the world have sent their condolences to those affected by the quake including presidents and prime ministers from Japan, Vietnam, Myanmar, Thailand, Singapore, Afghanistan, Belarus, Ukraine, Germany, Tanzania and others.
