Indianapolis Colts wide receiver T.Y. Hilton is reportedly not keen on re-signing with the team next year after learning that management is not intending to give him the same handsome deals that Dallas Cowboys' Dez Bryant and Denver Broncos' Demaryius Thomas had recently received, according to ESPN.

Both Bryant and Thomas received huge five-year, $70 million contracts from their mother teams before the deadline of the signing of their $12.8 million franchise tenders on July 15.

While the 25-year-old Florida native is evidently not yet in the same level of both veteran wide receivers in terms of talent and achievements, Hilton had been valuable for the Colts in much the same way as the two in the course of three seasons. Reports also said that he was allegedly expecting that the amount would be considered as "the bar" for starting wideouts from here on.

However, the Colts are reportedly not sharing the same opinion with Hilton especially after the team drafted Miami Hurricanes standout Phillip Dorset in the first round of the recent NFL draft. The 22-year-old showed a lot of promise during offseason training and was said to be a "clone" of Hilton himself.

This line of thinking by the management may affect Hilton's leverage to get his desired deal in the future.

Indianapolis Star's Stephen Holder reported that the 2014 Pro Bowler had hoped that talks for his contract extension would begin this offseason, but the Colts' management is still mum about it.

According to general manager Ryan Grigson, any contract discussions with Hilton will not happen this year.

If the 5-foot-9 pass catcher continues to perform and improve on his play, then he is in perfectly on his way to a big contract when his current one expires next year. The only question is if the offer would come from Indiana or somewhere else.

Provided that the Colts are not willing to pay Hilton the money that he wants, there would certainly be many teams lining up to offer the up and coming wide receiver his desired deal.

Current Indiana quarterback Andrew Luck is already well-acquainted with the playing style of Hilton, which makes them on of the most formidable passing duos in the league, as per Bleacher Report. It is up to the Colts if they want to break up that partnership or not.
