While many people, celebrities and non-celebrities alike, love to make the minute details of their lives known to the social media public, Taiwanese singer Jolin Tsai has been keeping it clean and quiet about her love life. But in an exceptional gesture, the Cantopop Queen made her affection known when she shared a Weibo birthday post of her longtime boyfriend Vivian Dawson.

The New Zealand-born model-actor celebrated his 31st birthday on Saturday, but Tsai was staging the Shanghai leg of her Play World Tour in China. In the close-up picture that he posted on Weibo, the solitary Dawson is seen holding a five-star "Dragon Ball." The photo was thus captioned, "Today is my birthday and I found the 5 star [sic] dragon ball. 6 more to go, then I can make my wish."

Taking some time off her busy schedule, Tsai shared Dawson's post on her account and greeted her boyfriend a "happy birthday" publicly. Fan reactions to the repost reportedly consisted mostly of encouragement that the pair consider marriage in the near future.

Since 2010, rumors of Tsai and Dawson dating have circulated for a long time before the singer revealed her dating status in 2014. Tsai has since been dodging media attention to their relationship.

One incident wherein Tsai's cover-up allegedly failed was when she prepared a romantic dinner for Dawson's 27th birthday in 2011. The couple were seen driving off, with Dawson at the driver's seat and Tsai allegedly hiding from the cameras at the backseat. With media feasting on the couple's night out, the birthday dinner was inadvertently cancelled and the lovers simply returned to the singer's place.

However, in February of this year, Tsai was caught off guard at the CCTV New Year's Gala. Tsai was seen "frantically searching" for something on stage as hundreds witnessed the ongoing program. Host and EXO member Lay reportedly greeted Tsai with a handshake but was unintentionally ignored by Tsai, who subsequently exclaimed, "I have dropped my ring!" It turned out that the missing ring was given by her boyfriend for their third anniversary. Relieved to have found the ring, Tsai then greeted her fellow celebrities on stage.
