Pixate is an old player in the domain of mobile app development. It is a startup based in Palo Alto, Calif. The investors in Pixate include counted venture firm Accel Partners and another startup accelerator Y Combinator. Together, the company has successfully raised $3.8 million in Series A financing in 2013; however, neither Google nor Pixate were able to comment on the financials of the deal as well as the other terms involved.
In a blog post on the Pixate blog, CEO Paul Colton said that he was proud of the company's association with Google and are confident of the relationship to grow stronger.
As per Tech Crunch, Pixate was started three years ago and has been extremely successful, wherein the goal behind the formation of Pixate was to make designing and prototyping native mobile applications easy and more accessible. The idea is to give developers a platform that will bring their app to life. Calton also said that his companies had some big and interesting ideas that could spearhead a revolution in the industry. With Google's association, they hope to amplify their reach.
The news also confirmed that the costs of the Pixate Cloud Service have been reduced considerably.
