It could be a final the locals of Bad Gastein are hoping for as top seeds Sara Errani and Sam Stosur are on to the quarterfinals of the NÜRNBERGER Gastein Ladies in Austria.

The world no. 19 Errani had a close match against Ukrainian qualifier Maryna Zanevska who was up 5-2 in the final set and served for the match until the Italian's tenacity and experience took over for a 6-2, 4-6, 7-5 victory.

"Well, I was winning, 6-2, 2-0, but then I started to miss one thousand balls," said Errani as reported by the WTA website. "She was starting to play much better from there, though. From the baseline I just couldn't do any points. It was very difficult to win two points. And her second serve wasn't too strong, so I tried to hit winners off of it, but I was just missing a lot of returns. It was just a really difficult day for me. But from 5-2 down in the third set I just tried to stay in there, and I'm happy I made it."

Her next opponent is Daria Kasatkina who defeated former champion and sixth seed Julia Görges. Just a week ago at the BRD Bucharest Open, the Russian qualifier lost in straight sets to the 2010 Champion but the 18-year-old had her sweet revenge on Thursday by rallying to take the second set after being down a break. She then cruised to the third with a 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 victory, putting her in her first-ever WTA quarterfinals.

Second seed Sam Stosur, on the other hand, had an easy time defeating Czech Republic's Klara Koukalova 6-1 6-0 and will next face 20-year-old Danka Kovinic. Both players have only met once at the Wimbledon Championships a few weeks ago with the match going to Stosur in straight sets.

Kovinic, with her outstanding ITF performance on clay, may have a chance to shake Stosur but the world no. 23 has much experience being a one-time French Open finalist.

Other players that advanced in the tournament include Slovakia's Anna Karolína Schmiedlova who will face Annika Beck and Polona Hercog who's awaiting the winner of the 2nd round match between Johanna Larsson and Karin Knapp which was rescheduled due to a thunderstorm.
