Android Lollipop 5.1.1 Update Rolling Out for the Sony Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z3

The latest Android Lollipop 5.1.1 is finally rolling out for the Sony Xperia Z2 and Sony Xperia Z3 flagship handsets.
Sony Japan has recently confirmed the clearance of the firmware build 23.4.A.0.546 update, according to Yibada. The update was certified by the PCS Type Certification Review Board (PTCRB) and it will soon hit the Android update center.

The Xperia blog has reported that the alleged models that will receive the update are Xperia Z2, Xperia Z2 tablet, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Dual(6633), Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z3 tablet Compact, which might come at the end of July.
As only a week left, tech experts are speculating that it will not be surprising if Sony delays the update until August. The Xperia owners who are qualified for the new firmware will get the alert in the notification panel when the update will be available. Those who will miss the update can manually navigate towards the "Settings" menu, then "About Device" option, afterwards select the "Software Update," and finally "Check for updates."
The latest Android update will highlight on the performance and bug eradication issues. New update will allow the users to customize the wireless radio, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi icons in the notification bar with a single tap.
The settings menu will also have some re-arrangements with a set of refreshed icons. It appears like most of the enlisted devices that will get the Lollipop 5.1.1 update might be eligible for receiving the upcoming Android M update; however, it is not confirmed yet though the a preview testing event mentioned that Sony Xperia Z3, Sony Xperia Z3 Compact, Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, Sony Xperia Z1, Sony Xperia Z1 Compact, Sony Xperia Z2, Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet, Sony Xperia Z Ultra, Sony Xperia M3, Sony Xperia M2, Sony Xperia T3, Sony Xperia L, Sony Xperia S will get the Android M update.
An inner source has reported that Sony has started experimenting over 14 smartphones to test the Android M preview and compatibility. Therefore, not all the devices mentioned above might get the update due to incompatibility.
