According to NDTV Gadgets, popular image sharing website Flickr has announced that it will be reintroducing the Pro membership for its users. The app sharing website underwent a major revamp in May 2013, when Yahoo changed its look completely. This update also introduced a lot of interesting options for the users, one of which was a welcome update in the storage capacity.
Flickr now offers a storage of one terabyte to all its free users. With Pro, Yahoo is reintroducing the pain subscription option and the charges to be levied for a Pro membership is approximately $6.
It is said that those enrolling for the Pro membership will also get a two percent discount on Adobe Creative Cloud Photography plan. Members who are subscribed to Pro's ad-free version will automatically be updated to Pro as part of their yearly subscription. Other treats that Yahoo's image sharing portal is offering with this deal include free shipping anywhere in the U.S. and a 50 percent discount on international shipping for a minimum purchase of $25.
Another report on Business Standard confirmed the news saying Flickr had announced its plan to update the app. Those who are subscribed to Pro will not get any ads to interrupt their access. The update will also improve the navigation, allowing the users to view the photographs in an improved format.
Once people come on board as paid subscribers, Flickr will add a special badge to their account to differentiate them from the regular users. The only motive being sighted behind this latest announcement is to get more users on its panel, as the app is facing tough competition in its category.
