China remains Ebola-free as the National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC) confirmed no cases of the virus have been monitored in the country as of this posting, but the country is on alert to prevent the entry of the virus.
In a press conference Thursday, NHFPC spokeswoman Song Shui said that while no confirmed Ebola cases have been reported in China so far, the Chinese government continues to add a series of preventive measures.

These measures, Song said, have been taken to stop the dreaded Ebola virus from entering the country through inbound travelers from affected countries in Western Australia.
The NHFPC announcement came a day after the government of Liberia declared a state of emergency to combat an outbreak of Ebola.
Song said the NHFPC has been closely coordinating with the World Health Organization (WHO) to effectively monitor the spread of the Virus.
The NHFPC also ordered Chinese border control officials to beef up their checks of inbound travelers from the affected countries.
International passengers of flights coming from the identified countries will have to be thoroughly checked, including the crew, to ensure that those with symptoms of the virus will be immediately quarantined.
Local hospitals around China have also been ordered to immediately report directly to NHFPC any suspected or confirmed cases of Ebola as part of the country's prevention and control plan.
A public information drive will also be carried out because Song said it is very important for the public to know more about Ebola and be better informed on how to protect themselves in the event of a viral infection.
Song, however, told journalist who attended the news conference that based on an evaluation report released by the WHO, the risk of Ebola spreading beyond Africa remains low.
As of Wednesday, the WHO said the Ebola outbreak in West Africa has already claimed the lives of 932 persons.
