In what is possibly the most exciting Formula One race in recent seasons, Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel took the chequered flag after leading the race from the very beginning. Vettel took his second victory of the season and dedicated it to fallen driver Jules Bianchi, who sadly passed away last weekend, nine months after crashing in the Japanese Grand Prix.

The front row of the grid was occupied by Mercedes drivers Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg respectively. The Mercedes teammates were both unable to get the pace off the starting line and were immediately overtaken by the Ferrari pair of Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen. Vettel slotted into the lead from third place while fifth-place Raikkonen overtook both Mercedes drivers and the Red Bull of Daniel Ricciardo to grab second place.
Chapionship leader Lewis Hamilton's race never recovered, after the botched start, he slipped off the track and ended up in 10th. He later worked his way back up to 4th place before coming together with Ricciardo. He obtained a drive-through penalty and finished the race in sixth.
Hamilton's teammate and world championship rival Nico Rosberg looked like he was on track to take the lead in the championship standings after Hamilton encountered a series of problems. Unfortunately, such was not the case, and Rosberg was unable to capitalize. While running in second place, he collided with Riccardo's Red Bull and both drivers had to return to the pits to sort out their damaged cars. Rosberg eventually crossed the line in eighth place.
The clash between Rosberg and Ricciardo led the way for Red Bull's Daniil Kvyat to slide into second place. His teammate, Ricciardo, still managed to grab the last podium position.
Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen was perhaps the only major player who didn't figure in any on-track action apart from Vettel. He had a stellar start and was in a position to give Ferrari a front row lockout. He was leading Nico Rosberg comfortably until his car decided to give up on him. Around the 40th lap, he starts complaining about losing power. Near the 45th lap, the team confirms that he has a kinetic motor problem. After attempting to reset the car during a pit stop, Raikkonen was eventually called in to retire his car.
In the end, Vettel took the victory and immediately paid tribute to Bianchi. He mentioned the fallen driver both on the team radio after he crossed the line, and again at the podium.
The 2015 Formula One season will now enter the summer break with Lewis Hamilton still leading the championship. See the full driver and constructor standings in the official Formula One website.
