Just weeks after news erupted that "The Killing Joke" was going to be made an animated film, Mark Hamill is now confirmed to reprise his role as the voice of Batsy's old-time nemesis, the Joker.

The highly acclaimed graphic novel by Alan Moore and Brian Bolland was initially reported by Warner Bros. to arrive on the big screen as an animated film. Collider reported that Mark Hamill, who lent his voice for Warner Bros.' 90's hit "Batman: The Animated Series" and "Batman: Arkham" video games, is hoping to be casted once more in this epic choice of material by the studio.

The actor is also known for his role as Luke Skywalker in the first "Star Wars" trilogy as well as in the upcoming movie "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."

At par with Heath Ledger in terms of reputation for bringing in that maniacal laugh, Hamill is legendary as Joker for millions of Bat-fans around the world. However, he is not the only one who wishes to reprise his previous role, as Comic Book Resources reported that Kevin Conroy, the voice of Batman in majority of the animated features, is also expressing his enthusiasm in voicing the Caped Crusader in this highly anticipated animated adaptation.

When Alan Moore first wrote this origin story on Batman's most terrifying nemesis, no one thought it would be as acclaimed as it is now. "The Killing Joke" is reportedly the graphic novel that Heath Ledger used as a means to study his character. Still, Geek Tyrant reported that the direct-to-video animated films made by Warner Bros. are usually hit or miss, but with the two legendary voice actors potentially attached onto the project and the resource material already filled with fail-safe plot points, there is very little space for Warner Bros. to make a mistake.
