The United States Olympic Committee ended Boston's bid to host the Games in 2024 due to issues about cost overruns.
City mayor Marty Walsh, according to Yahoo Sports, said that the financial requirement could prove burdensome to Boston and he cannot put the taxpayers at risk.
Walsh also said his office was uncertain whether an insurance policy pledged by Boston's Olympic organizing group would sufficiently cost.

Thus Walsh said he cannot automatically sign the host city bid should Boston win the right to host the Games.
Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker also demanded a full report from a consulting group before supporting the bid.
The cost of staging the Beijing Summer Olympics in 2008 was $43 billion while the Winter Olympics held in Sochi in 2014 fetched $51 billion.
Boston has the facilities to pull down cost, such as what transpired in the London 2012 Olympics when cost was limited to $14 billion.
However, Boston found the International Olympic Committee's expectation that the host city shoulders all costs as not acceptable.
This is the same reason why four of the six cities that aspired to host the 2022 Winter Games have dropped out, leaving only Kazakhstan and China as possible destinations.
Boston was chosen by the United States Olympic Committee over Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington, D.C. to lead the the country's bid for the Games.
,Sbnation noted that the Boston populace would rather see their taxes used to address existing issues--such as improving schools and housing and making streets safer--that in hosting an athletic event. There was also a group that actively opposed Boston's bid and had a successful campaign against it on Twitter.
According to the Associated Press, Los Angeles may still revive its bid as several Olympic leaders have been pushing for it as substitute.
USOC CEO Scott Blackmun also said that the United States still wants to host the 2024 Games.
But the USOC only has until Sept. 15 to officially name its candidate.
The United States withdrew from bidding on the 2020 Summer Olympics and 2022 Winter Olympics in hopes of winning a 2024 bid.
Ohter cities bidding for 2024 are Rome, Paris, Hamburg, Toronto and Budapest.
