He added that Cruz doesn't have a devastating weapon that he can impose against opponents.

Cruz countered by saying that Dillashaw is nothing but a wannabe, reports MMA Mania. He further said that he will eventually prove he is the best in the world.

The ex-champ UFC bantamweight champ added that Dillashaw, like Renan Barao, who is only being built up as the rightful champion since he is  yet unable to fight.

Cruz noted that he is an extremely awkward awkward position since he can only talk and not fight because of his injury. Because of that, he said that he's careful with his choice of words.

Cruz added that other fighters like Dillashaw, whom he said lacks star power, are targeting him because of his fame. He insists that nobody actually believes that Dillashaw is the real champion.

However, Cruz is hampered by knee injuries that allowed him to fight only once since October of 2011.

In his 2014 comeback, Cruz easily dispatched  Tekaya Mizugaki at UFC 178.

However, he suffered an ACL injury after that.

Cruz says he is hoping to return at the beginning of 2016 if his ACL rehabilitation goes well.

Meanwhile, Dillashaw is fresh from a dominating 4th round TKO win over Barao at UFC on Fox 16.

Dillashaw used a stiff left jab and his fast pace to control the fight, Yahoo Sports reported.

He was bombing Barao with and assortment of hooks and uppercuts when referee Herb Dean stepped in to stop the fight at 0:35 in the round.

It was a repeat victory for Dillashaw over Cruz.

At UFC 173 on May 2014, Dillashaw recorded one of the biggest upsets in UFC when he dominated Barao en route to a firth round stoppage to win the UFC bantamweight crown.
