With China being the most populous country in the world, you would wonder how big the number of their netizens is, wherein a lion's share of Chinese people using the internet is mostly from mobile phone users; however, it wouldn't be unforeseen if statics shows that most people are using their smart phones in accessing the World Wide Web.

As researched by CNNIC, with only 0.9 percentage increase, the growth of overall internet users has slowed down. Although, it doesn't seem that growth would be static in the long run, but at the moment increase on internet usage would be stagnant. These statistics shows that if China's internet consumption is a country, it would only be on rank three next to India and China itself. With a population of 668 million Chinese netizens, 594 million are only using mobile internet, which shows only 88.9 percent in total that are using the internet - far from China's claim that the entire country is as developed as Beijing and Shanghai.
As reported by the World Bank Data of 2014, rural population in China is still more than 600 million and only 26.9 percent of those are using the internet, CNNIC added. With all these reports all around, there's this one more fact according to Tech in Asia that 700 million have not even tried going online in China.
These numbers shows that China's rural internet usage improvement has not been as fast as they expected. It seems that there are still regions where they should focus more and advertise more on using the internet. Another number given by the CNNIC is that internet usage in rural areas of China increased about 8 million in the last six months, still far from reaching at least a quarter of their population.
Based from all these studies and statistics, China's internet usage still have a high possibility that it will increase, but it may not be as fast as expected. There would still be times where increase would be tedious, but still in no time, internet would be country wide for China.
