Serena Williams is closing in on history. A month from now, the world no.1 will be at the US Open with one goal in mind and that is to win. And if she does, she will achieve something that no other player has done in almost 30 years: capture all four grand slams in one year.

Steffi Graf was the last player to achieve such feat. The German did it 1988 and her record has yet to be broken. With the possibility of Williams rewriting history, demand for US Open tickets has increased.

According to Forbes, ground passes are priced at $87 for the first week while seats at the Arthur Ashe Stadium will be sold at $178. There will be a rise in the prices during Labor Day weekend with $99 for the ground passes and $202 for the Arthur Ashe seats.

The second week, meanwhile, will see higher prices with courtside seats reaching a minimum of $695 and the women's finals, which may come with the opportunity to see Williams break records, at $1,695.

Betting odds are also in favor of the 33-year-old according to the International Business Times. Williams is declared to be the favorite to win the US Open with odds at 6/5. Her biggest competition is Victoria Azarenka who is at 6/1.

Though she has been unstoppable at all the grand slams this year, there are a few factors that can affect Williams' road to victory and one of them is injury.

Earlier this month, Williams pulled out of the Swedish Open so as not to exacerbate the pain she felt in her elbow. She is, however, recovering well and is expected to play at the Bank of the West Classic next week.

Health threats aside, she could also face a tough draw that will feature some of the dangerous young guns of the game including Garbine Muguruza,  Belinda Bencic, Madison Keys, and if all goes well, Eugenie Bouchard.

Let's not forget media pressure. Williams has emphasized in her interviews that she doesn't want to think about the history she could make if she wins the US Open. But media attention, that begets pressure, is inevitable and it may just affect her mental game. And at her age, dealing with it could be just as tough as dealing with a physical injury.

Williams believes, however, that "pressure is privilege", something that the legendary Billie Jean King has said to her. If she keeps it all intact, every penny to buy that highly-demanded ticket could be so worth it.
