According to USA Today, Google+, the once popular social media platform that was launched amidst great hype and fanfare, could be seeing the end of days. But, there are still some useful tools that this platform is offering though looks like Google plus has already given up the fight.
Recently, it was announced that one does not need to have a Google plus account for YouTube and other Google platforms as users will now be able to access the platforms with their regular Google id itself, the Google plus sign in will no longer be compulsory.
Initially, because Google had imposed the Google plus membership on the users, it created a certain hostility towards its services that never really disappeared. Basically, Google plus is a social media network that has users but still not many people who actually use it. As for the features, users have an excellent alternative to skype in the Hangouts that allows users to connect across the globe. In fact, Google's hangouts offers the facility to chat with ten people at the same time. The Hangout app also allows users to make free phone calls.
Even the Photos option on Google plus is actually way better than the other options available across social media portals. For instance, Google Plus is programmed to take a direct back-up of every photo that is being clicked via the user's device, including smartphone. Sadly, the feature was noticed only by photographs though Google's idea of introducing the options was to improve display and attract more users. The clear trade off in this deal is that Google tends to lower the resolution of the picture in the process. Nevertheless, they remain usable even for printing.
Another report on The Guardian also said that Google was planning to venture into e-commerce to lure customers by offering them shopping options.
