New England Patriots' superstar quarterback Tom Brady and the NFL Players Association filed a lawsuit against the NFL in a Minnesota federal court on Wednesday. However, ESPN reported that the hearing of the case was ordered to be transferred in New York by US District Court Judge Richard Kyle.

The reason for the transfer was explained by the judge, saying that "Brady plays in Massachusetts, the union is headquartered in Washington and the NFL in New York." And so the hearing should be done in a Big Apple courtroom.

Brady's attorneys led by Jeffrey Kessler did not see anything wrong about the decision and claimed that the change in venue does not make a difference in the case.

The 37-year-old quarterback, together with the NFLPA, is out to appeal NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell's decision of maintaining the player's four-game suspension as penalty for being involved in the "Deflategate" scandal.

Patriots' owner Robert Kraft expressed his disappointment over Goodell's ruling and have churned towards the league, saying that he was "wrong" to have placed his "faith" in the NFL, as per Bleacher Report.

"Personally, this is very sad and disappointing to me," said Kraft.

Deflategate was the codename given to the accusation towards Brady and the Patriots of deflating game day footballs during their January 2015 AFC Championship Game last season against the Indiana Colts. The Patriots won the game handily, 45-7, but a postgame inspection of the footballs used in the match revealed that they were underinflated, which allegedly gave Brady and his team undue advantage.

The league gave Brady a four-game suspension on May 11, but he appealed three days later with the help of the players' union. Goodell upheld the suspension on Tuesday and now the NFL and one of its top players of all time are set to battle each other in a legal courtroom.

The New York Times' Ken Belson said that this court fight will put not only Brady but the entire NFL as well into a lot of risks.

Belson said that the possibility of the four-time Super Bowl champion to still serve his suspension while the NFL and its players association struggles in court "is one of the many risks that both sides face" aside from the reputation of the two parties being tarnished.

The union was reportedly hoping for the case's judge to issue an order that would allow Brady to play while the issue was being settled. It seems like the Deflategate saga is far from over with all these developments.
