"They are feeling two more years after six," said president of HBO programming Michael Lombardo.

The executive said that he would be open for a seventh season as well as a prequel of the epic story based of George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" book.

"Seven-seasons-and-out has never been the [internal] conversation. The question is: how much beyond seven are we going to do? Obviously we're shooting six now, hopefully discussing seven. [Benioff and Weiss] feel like there's two more years after six. I would always love for them to change their minds, but that's what we're looking at right now," Lombardo said.

As of the moment, the current focus of the showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss is the controversial sixth season of "Game of Thrones" which is already in production.

The Guardian reported that although the show faced a lot of controversy because its violence, Lombardo said that he supports the whole team "fully artistically."

Voters didn't seem affected by the controversies as the show became the most-nominated series in the upcoming 67th Primetime Emmy Awards. "Game of Thrones" received 24 nominations including "Best Drama Series."

With regards to the most-talked about "Stabbing of Jon Snow," the executive said that "dead is dead," Daily Mail reported.

"Dead is dead is dead. He be dead. Yes," said Lombardo. "Everything I've seen, heard and read, Snow is dead."

The creators of the show put their feet down and repeatedly said that Kit Harington's character is dead. However, fans of the show are not convinced especially having seen the actor in Belfast where the series is being filmed. There are many speculations that surrounded Jon Snow's death and possible reappearance in the show.
