"Rowdy" Ronda Rousey has proven once again that she is the most dominant female MMA athlete. She defeated Brazilian Bethe Correia in Saturday's UFC 190 event in only 34 seconds.
Rousey and her opponent took longer to listen to each other being introduced into the octagon than to finish off the fight itself. After taking care of her previous opponent in only 14 seconds, expectations were high for Rousey. However, the home crowd was firmly behind their fighter, Correia. The match took place at the HSBC arena in Rio de Janeiro in front of thousands of Brazilian fans.

The Brazilian crown was sorely disappointed when Rousey showed off her striking power and finished off the match in just a little over half a minute. Millions of spectators worldwide hardly had a moment to blink.
The bantamweight title is stuck firmly on Rousey's waist as of now and it remains to be seen if anyone can go the distance with her. Correia was taken out through a series of punches and Rousey didn't even have to bring out her famed ground game. The Olympic gold medalist for judo showed off her power and skill while remaining completely upright for the entire 34 seconds. Her opponent however, took one tumble before getting up again only to receive a series of blows that will have her kissing the mat.
Rousey landed 19 blows against Correia's 9. The match lasted exactly 20 seconds more than Rousey's last match. The one before that, lasted only 16. For all intents and purposes, Correia lasted a lot longer than the previous 2 contenders. That didn't make her loss any less devastating.
According to a report by MMA Mania, Rousey's sixth consecutive title defense earned her a bonus of US $50,000 for putting on an impressive performance. Three other athletes were awarded bonuses of the same amount. These bonuses are awarded on top of their undisclosed base salaries. Apart from Rousey, the "Performance of the Night" accolade was also awarded to Demian Maia. Meanwhile, "Fight of the Night" was awarded to Shogun Rua and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.
